The Festival of Trees is the annual event ushering in the holiday season statewide. Hosted by Delaware Hospice to support its programs, the Festival features a magnificent display of decorated trees and wreaths, offers special holiday events, and hosts thousands of visitors each year.
The Festival is made possible through the support of the community. Hundreds of volunteers help organize and run the events; businesses and individuals sponsor trees and wreaths, which are decorated by artisans who donate their time and talent. At the close of the Festival, the trees
Bayhealth Kent General received the Get With The Guidelines®-Resuscitation Silver Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association at a special ceremony at the hospital on August 29.
The recognition signifies that Bayhealth Kent General has achieved quality metrics for cardiopulmonary resuscitation practices based on American Heart Association guidelines consistently for one year.
Of the 691 hospitals nationwide that participate in the GWTG-R, only five hospitals have achieved Silver Status, one of which is Bayhealth. No hospital is at the Gold level.
To help Bayhealth respond to the growing challenges in health care today and in the future, Bayhealth is pleased to announce the addition of Shana D. Ross, MSHR, MBA, to Vice President, Human Resources.
In this role, Ross joins the Bayhealth Executive Team, providing leadership in recruiting, developing, engaging, rewarding and retaining a highly qualified, patient-focused workforce. She will also focus on processes and programs to enhance employee commitment and engagement and promote a strong work/life balance and a culture of safety.

attributes which make military veterans outstanding employees when they return to civilian life.

Bayhealth's Speech Pathology Department now offers a new, monthly support group for current and past patients with communication deficits.
The Communication Group is held at 4:30 p.m. the fourth Thursday every month in Kent General's Rehab Conference Room in the Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, 560 S. Governors Avenue, Dover. The next meeting is Thursday, August 23 and the topic is sports. Attendees are encouraged to bring in a souvenir representing their favorite sport to watch or play. The next meeting is September 27.
Delaware Hospice invites anyone seeking an enriching volunteer experience to join its volunteer program. The next Volunteer Orientation session will be held on Tuesday, September 11th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.

Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) has been recognized for a second consecutive year as one of the nation's Most Wired hospitals, according to the results of the 2012 Most Wired Survey released in the July issue of the American Hospital Association's Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. PRMC was also honored by the magazine with a Most Wired, Most Improved designation in 2010.

Nanticoke Health Services welcomes Michael Ward, DO to its medical staff. Dr. Ward joins Nanticoke Health Services as an orthopedic surgeon at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He is currently accepting new patients at 1340 Middleford Road in Seaford and patients can be scheduled in Seaford by calling 410- 901-8370.
Dr. Ward is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship at the Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Bayhealth has selected EwingCole to develop the master facility plan that will become the footprint for the new hospital on the Bayhealth Milford Memorial campus. EwingCole is a nationally recognized, fully integrated architecture, engineering, interior design, and planning firm with offices in Philadelphia, Irvine, California, New York, and Washington D.C. EwingCole is expected to complete this key phase in the next 18 months.
In making the announcement, Bayhealth Milford Memorial's Administrator Michael Ashton said, "We are excited at the prospect of developing the future service delivery model for healthcare in Southern Delaware.
