This free community program is organized by CHEER, Delaware Hospice, and the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
Life can be challenging, not only for people who have Alzheimer's Disease, but especially for their caregivers. In addition to the many physical and emotional challenges, the caregiver is often unable or unwilling to leave his or her loved one, resulting in social isolation.

Save the date for "Pedal Away Prostate Cancer," a 25-mile bike race to be held on September 14, 2013. The annual event is sponsored by Bayhealth and the Delaware Prostate Cancer Coalition, and raises funds that support Bayhealth's free community prostate screening program and educational outreach.
Starting at the Eden Hill Medical Center in Dover, the event is open to cyclists of all abilities, with top finishers receiving prizes. A picnic lunch will be held afterwards.
A men's health fair will follow the race, featuring speakers including prostate cancer survivors.

On Thursday May 23, 2013, there will be a "Meet the Artist " reception from 12:30 - 2:00 at The Upper Crust where individuals can discuss Ron's creativity with him. Light refreshments will be served.
Ron was born and raised in Delaware attending Wilmington public schools. At an early age he developed a curiosity and interest in art.
The Delaware SPCA is pleased to announce that it will reopen its high-quality, high-volume, low-cost spay neuter clinic on Monday, May 13. The clinic, which can perform up to 5,000 such surgeries annually, has been temporarily closed since late 2012 during a search for a new fulltime veterinarian to join the staff. The search is concluded: the shelter has hired Dr. Rebecca Trejo, and she will begin working on the same day.
In tandem, Delaware SPCA has received a grant from PetSmart Charities' national "Did You Know?" campaign.

The eighth annual "Classic at Baywood Greens" is scheduled to take place Wednesday, June 5, at the championship golf course of Baywood Greens, seven miles west of Route 1 on John J. Williams Highway.
This popular event raises funds for the Robert & Eolyne Tunnell Cancer Center of Beebe Medical Center, furthering the Cancer Center's mission of providing hope and wellness to its patients. Last year's tournament raised $30,000.
Paul Mylander, member of the Beebe Medical Foundation's Board of Directors, is serving as the Honorary Chair of the event. Baywood Greens Golf Course and Clubhouse is the Classic Sponsor again.
